In Case you missed it

So in light of Sen. Obama's (or as we like to call him Barry) sweep of the post- Super Tuesday February primaries, its high time we get to know more about his leading lady - Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama (too Chi-town)

We all know that the day that our favorite Senator gets inaugurated into office we will all view our nation a lil differently. Little black and brown kids can actually aspire to high public office without getting the side-eye from well meaning adults, letting them know of the glass ceiling. All will not be perfect, racism and all the other isms will still be in full effect (it will take a social revolution to change all that 400+ of institutionalized mess). But even within all this having a woman of color as First lady will (hopefully) smash a multitude of stereotypical views of black women - her place in society, her femininity, her womanhood, etc...

Here's to the hottest chick in the game

Michelle Obama is one of my YBF women of the year! She does not get her due. She embraces her femininity while still maintaining a elevated and educated stance. Other women in politics should take notes- ahem, ahem... One need not look like Janet Reno to get on the tichet!

I agree, this will surely be a time of change and will effect the way we all view the US. However, I feel that it is a very thin line that the Obama's will walk. They have the opportunity to shatter every (or many stereotypes) but at the same time they run the risk of affirming a few also if they slack in the least. I have much faith in our "brotha" Obama and his G'd first lady. But, I do sleep a little lighter at night thinking, "What will the country say when they catch him eating that first piece of presidential home-fried chicken in the oval office?"
