Stand and Deliver

They probably won't be making a movie about me and my students (and if they did I hope the trailer is a little more sleek then this joint), but as the first day of school gets closer I find myself trying to imagine what things are going to be like. What kinds of students will be sitting in my class? What kind of teacher will I be? Will it be obvious that I'm new to the game? I have no idea what to expect.
But I think if I can channel the vibe of Mr. Escalante of the movie then I'll be alright.

if only my life as a teacher would follow the same positive trajectory as a touching 80s movie.
